Picture
The realistic fiction book Out Of My Mind by Sharon Draper is a story of a young girl in a wheelchair that is a genius despite her difficulties, but no one is there to know. Melody was born with physical difficulties, slobbering, kicking out with no reason, and absolutely no balance. She has a photographic memory, and a loving heart, but only those who could read her mind would know. No matter how hard Melody tries, nobody knows about her crazy-smart brain, and even her teachers don’t think she’s capable of learning. I loved this heart-moving novel with a surprising twist that will inspire thousands, of a girl who achieves her dreams. I promise you, you will never look at a disabled child the same way again. -Serena

Out of My Mind
is a book by Sharon Draper and it is a realistic fiction. Out of My Mind is about a girl named Melody and she has disabilities; she can’t talk, she can’t walk, and she needs a lot of help doing many little things.  She wants to get a machine that speaks for her, while her mom is about to have a baby and she’s worried that the baby is going to be like Melody.  When I read this book it was so good that I couldn’t put it down.  This story taught me a lesson about don’t judge someone just because they're different and and there not like you.-Katie
