I Survived: The Bombing of Pearl Harbor by Lauren Tarshis is a Realistic Fiction book about a boy named Danny. Danny is caught with his mother in a bombing from the Japanese. As he tries to get to his mother, people are getting injured around him. Danny is a boy from NY who came out to Hawaii because his mom had to be a nurse there, and she wanted Danny to get out of the city. The problem is, the Japanese bomb where he is living! His mom is working where they are bombing! Now, he trying to save her! But, he has some help. In my opinion, the book was great. I loved the twist where Danny save Mack by hotwiring a car! Also, Danny reminded me of Leo, who is the guy from I Survived: The San Francisco Earthquake. -Brandon K

I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor
is a historical fiction by Lauren Tarshis it is about a boy named Max and his mother that had just moved to Hawaii. Max is unhappy and angry with his new home and has no friends. One day while Max’s mom is at work max sees plains in the air then bombs are dropping from the plains and Max is running away as fast as he can. Many things happen in this book that make you want to keep reading. I liked this book and would recommend it to a friend because the held my attention and made me want to keep reading. It was not very slow but still made me want to skip ahead to see what would happen. -Brooks
