![]() Hoot is a realistic fiction book by Carl Hiassen. The main character of the book is a boy named Roy Eberhardt. Roy is a very curious, friendly, and adventurous boy. The book is about a boy who moves to Florida, and he has some troubles along the way. The boy passes by a construction site and notices some burrowing owl holes. He realizes that the bulldozers are going to run over the holes with families living in them. Will he save the owls in time? I was curious about what was going to happen next. The book held my interest because because I did not know what was going to happen next, and the author did not give clues away. The story may be confusing at first because it is two stories that connect together. You can also watch the movie. -Alexandra
