The fiction novel series of Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan is a story of seven demigod heroes that are on a quest to save the world. There are seven main characters throughout the story, they are all demigods- Half human, half god. Here we go: Percy, Poseidon's son- The god of the Sea. Percy is a Greek, and is very sarcastic, humorous, smart, and loyal. His power is that he can control seawater, breathe in it, talk to the sea animals, heals in seawater, basically a demigod-merman, he feels more powerful in the sea. Loyalty is actually his weak spot. Next Annabeth, Athena ‘s daughter- The goddess of crafts, war strategy, weaving, and overall smarts. Annabeth is Percy’s girlfriend, she is Greek and is extremely smart,  mostly serious, and relies on logic. That’s why they’re together, one to enlighten, and one to keep the other hooked.  Annabeth has no power, she relies on just her wits, skills and her brain. Now that’s girl power! Her weak spot is over-confidence. Next is Jason, Zeus’s son- The King of the universe, the god of the sky. Jason was born a Roman, but feels at home with the Greeks.  He is leader, but in his group of friends, he feels equal to them, and a little less-confident. But Jason is very kind, and can be serious when he needs to be. Jason can fly, control the wind and summon lightning bolts. Piper, is Jason’s girlfriend, she is Greek and is Aphrodite’s daughter-The goddess of Love and Beauty. Piper is very kind and hates snooty, popular girls. She is also very brave and relies on instinct, also a huge daredevil. Piper can charmspeak- it is hypnotizing someone with your voice. She and Annabeth were best friends. There is also Frank, Ares’s son- The god of war and violence. Frank was a Roman outcast, then later rises up to become the head of the Roman camp. The funny thing is, Frank is not rude or mean at all, he is very sweet and loving, he starts off shy, but changes later. Frank is descended from Poseidon, and gets the gift of shape-shifting. He can change into any animal, but the catch is, his whole life is tied to a flammable stick. Next there is Hazel, she is Roman, and is Frank’s girlfriend, she is Hades’s daughter- The god of the Underworld and riches below the Earth. Despite her dad’s murky image, Hazel is very friendly, and is a controller of the mist- the veil that covers the mythical world from mortal eyes. She has the power to navigate the underground perfectly, and bring up cursed riches from the ground. Last is Leo, Hephaestus’s son- The god of Blacksmith’s and fire. Leo is over sarcastic, and is very funny, he loves his friends and family. His girlfriend is a immortal sorceress,Calypso, that lives on the island Ogygia. Leo’s power, is that he is immune to and can control fire, and also is a crazy great mechanic. The main problem is that Gaea-The goddess of the Earth, is starting to wake up from her nap of a millennia, and she is wondering where her children-The titans have gone. In her half-awake state, she finds out the gods, her grandchildren, have taken over, and is very angry. The heroes have to put Gaea back to sleep, before she wakes up fully, otherwise she would destroy the world! My opinion, this is my favorite series of all time. The books keep your interest throughout the whole story, and I couldn’t put it down! There is so much action, and humor. With the magical battles, the humorous get-togethers, and all the cliff-hangers that leave you shouting, “I want more!” This is definitely the series that you will want to read over and over again! -Serena
