![]() Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down by Jeff Kinney, is a book about a kid named Greg Heffely. Greg's mom says he needs to stop playing video games and get some new friends. But Greg doesn't want to. But still his goes through three months of trouble, trying to get Greg a good friend that won't only play video games with him. Greg is a kid that loves to play video games.he also has a "journal" that his mom told him to right in. That's what you would be reading in the story. The problem is, Greg needs to find a friend, but the friends that his mom is trying to set him up with, aren't really like him. Also, he is trying many different ways to get friends, like joining the band, and making a video. I finished the book in one night, because I couldn't put it down. The book was hilarious, because Greg kept messing up everything. I hope Jeff Kinney makes more books! -Brandon K.

Rowling about how Harry Potter gets a letter and goes to Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry where Harry finds two friends. Harry is an orphan boy that is young and unhappy that gets taken in by his aunt, uncle, and spoiled cousin. The problem is The Lord Voldermort is trying to steal the Philosopher’s stone. I really liked this book because it kept my interests and it made me feel scared but the good scared. -Brooks ![]() Geronimo Stilton and the Bandit Cats by Elisabetta Dami, is fantasy fiction about a mouse named Geronimo. Geronimo and his family go on an adventure to find a lost island mad of gold. But, the kind of gold they got was not the kind they were looking for. The main character, Geronimo, was excited to go on the trip at first, but in the middle of the book, he wasn't very happy about what had happened. The problem was, that taken by the bandit cats, and they were going to eat them! This was a great book filled with action packed events. Once I started, couldn't stop reading it, because it was so exciting. The thing that was the most interesting about the ship was all of the rooms. It was huge! -Brandon K. ![]() Geronimo Stilton: This Hotel is Haunted by Elisabetta Dami is a fantasy fiction book about a mouse named Geronimo. He goes on an adventure to The Grand Hotel. But, he doesn't know what is really going on there. Geronimo is especially a fraidy mouse in the beginning, but by the end he is fearless. The problem is, The Grand Hotel is closing, but the people that work there don't know why. But, when Geronimo comes he figures out, THE HOTEL IS HAUNTED! In my opinion, this book is best Geronimo Stilton book ever made. It made me feel adventurous, like Geronimo. Also, loved how the hotel got dirty with cobwebs. It made it seem more scary. - Brandon K. ![]() .Big Nate Lives It Up by Lincoln Peirce is a realistic fiction book about a boy named Nate. In the story, Nate gets a buddy, named Breckenridge Puffington III. Breckenridge looks familiar to Nate, but he doesn’t know where. But soon, he figures it out, and that’s where things get messy. The main character, Nate, has big poofy hair, a blue and yellow shirt, and jeans. He loves football, and baseball. Also, in the beginning of the book, he didn't like Breckenridge, but by the end he thinks he is fine. The problem is Nate has to be a buddy to a weird kid named Breckenridge Puffington III. Breckinridge follows Nate around all of the time, and he gets annoyed. But, Nate says something to Breckenridge, and the whole story turns around. In my opinion, the book was great. I couldn’t put the book down because of all of the twists. -Brandon K. ![]() Penguins by Frankie Stout is a Nonfiction book about penguins. There is no main characters. I like this book because the information was presented in an organized way. It was clear and easy to read. The book also answered all of my questions. It also answered questions I didn't have but are important to know. I like this book a lot and if you ever want to know about naters coolest birds (Penguins) you should read this book. -Peyton ![]() The book realistic fiction book The Battle of Bunker Hill written by Michael Burgan took me through the intense battle of Bunker Hill. The plot of this story is through a man (no name/yourself) that has to chose weather to fight as a patriot or a loyalist (fight for the British). On my first time going through the book I chose the patriot path; it took me through and intense battle with blood and gore. I loved this book. It was action packed, like when the patriots were getting shot at and I had to dig a hole, or when I had to get back to camp with a bullet in my arm. Also I realized that I should be thankful for the things that our military do for us and to always take my rights as an American seriously. -Ryan ![]() The realistic fiction book Out Of My Mind by Sharon Draper is a story of a young girl in a wheelchair that is a genius despite her difficulties, but no one is there to know. Melody was born with physical difficulties, slobbering, kicking out with no reason, and absolutely no balance. She has a photographic memory, and a loving heart, but only those who could read her mind would know. No matter how hard Melody tries, nobody knows about her crazy-smart brain, and even her teachers don’t think she’s capable of learning. I loved this heart-moving novel with a surprising twist that will inspire thousands, of a girl who achieves her dreams. I promise you, you will never look at a disabled child the same way again. -Serena Out of My Mind is a book by Sharon Draper and it is a realistic fiction. Out of My Mind is about a girl named Melody and she has disabilities; she can’t talk, she can’t walk, and she needs a lot of help doing many little things. She wants to get a machine that speaks for her, while her mom is about to have a baby and she’s worried that the baby is going to be like Melody. When I read this book it was so good that I couldn’t put it down. This story taught me a lesson about don’t judge someone just because they're different and and there not like you.-Katie ![]() Smile, a graphic novel by Raina Telgemeier, is about a girl named Raina who learns there is so much more than just her looks, and to be with the people who like you for you. The problem is Raina a kind, snobby girl is struggling to stay with her group of friends, aside from that her two front teeth fall out! I think this was a great book it had action, sad times, and happy times. This book made me feel that no one’s perfect and everyone makes mistakes. -Aleeza Smile by Raina Telgemeier is a fictional story about a girl named Raina who has trouble with her teeth. Raina is a girl that is in 6th grade in the beginning and is in 8th grade by the end, and she is also a girl scout. The main problem of this story is that she falls and her front two teeth fall out and she has to have a lot done to fix them. This book made me want to keep reading because I had just chipped my tooth a few days before I read the book and it made me feel a little better about my tooth. -Karisma Smile is an amazing nonfiction book by Raina Telgemeier, about Raina’s life trying to fix her teeth. The main character is Raina. There was a lot of problems in this story, but the main one is Her teeth being busted out. I love this book because she kept me interested in her problems, like boys, friends, and more. She made me want to keep reading and see how she handled them. -Regan Smile is a realistic fiction book written by Raina Telgemeier. A sixth grader, Raina, trips and breaks her two front teeth in the beginning of the story. She also faces problems with her friends. The main character is Raina. This book makes me want to keep reading because it is really good. Also, I think that it must have been hard for her because she needed to wear braces for four years! -Molly ![]() Geronimo Stilton: Christmas Catastrophe by Elisabetta Dami is fantasy fiction book. Geronimo Stilton goes on a ski vacation with family and friends, and gets hurt. Now he has his adventure in a hospital! Geronimo is a scaredy mouse. He hates going on dangerous adventures. The problem is that Geronimo brakes all his bones in his body, so he has to stay in a hospital instead of spending time with his friends and family. I loved this book, because when his two roommates had to get their appendix removed, they were braver about it, so it made me feel the same way about myself. The story made me keep reading, because I wanted to see if he would be able to go home. -Brandon K. ![]() I Survived the Nazi Invasion by Lauren Tarshis is a realistic fiction book about a boy named Max who escapes the Nazis and finds ways to survive attacks, while his dad is captured by the Nazi. He finds a farmer, and he helps Max escape, and fight the Nazis. The main character, Max, is brave, intelligent, and trusts the farmer. The problem is, the Nazis are invading all over Europe. Also, Max, his family, and every other Jewish person are struggling to survive. I loved reading this book. Once I started, it was hard to stop! It had a lot of twists and turns, like when Max recognized somebody on the farm. This story mad me feel sad for the people who died, but happy for the people who survived. -Brandon K.
![]() Drama by Raina Telgemeier is a fiction comic book about a girl who is determined to create an amazing show, but there is too much drama off AND on the stage. Callie is an ordinary girl who LOVES theatre and makes friends. She tries her best in creating a play. With all this drama everywhere, she doesn’t know if she can create a good play, or it’ll be a fail. I thought this book was kind of boring because it was just talking about daily school life and struggle with making the play. I didn’t quite like this book because I felt like it had too much gossip in it, and I don’t like those types of books, adventure and books keeping you at the edge of your seat interest me. If you like drama and gossip, you’d probably like this. If you like books that I like, I don’t recommend it at all. -Aayna ![]() The Creator From My Closet : Batneezer is a fiction book by Obert Skye. In this book a boy name Rob is visited by the ghost of reading past present and future and send a con man and his accomplice to jail which saves his school's library. The main character is Rob. He is sad and depressed because he just was told the girl he likes does not like him. In the end he is happy and lively because his library is saved and the girl he likes likes him back. I really liked this book and would recommend this for a friend because this book had a lot of action and suspense. Also the story held my interest. -Brooks ![]() In the fiction book I Survived The Shark Attack Of 1916 by Lauren Tarshis, Chet tells his friends Dewey, Sid, and Monty that there is a shark in the creek. None of them believed him so when he jumped into the creek he saved Sid, but the shark bit him. The main characters are Chet, Sid, Monty, and Dewey.The main problem is that Chet tells his friend that there is a shark in the creek but they don’t believe him. I liked the book because it has a lot of action and I liked the book so much I read the whole series. -Max ![]() The realistic fiction book Tapper Twins by Geoff Rodkey is about twins who get into a “war” with each other, and try to get revenge. The main characters are Claudia and her twin brother named Reese. The main problem is they keep trying to fight each other and get their vengeance. I enjoyed this book because it was ridiculously funny what they did to get back at one another and it held my attention throughout the whole story. This book seemed so real, and I love how the author made it not just a story, but a debating oral. -Isabella ![]() The fiction book The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days by Michele Weber Hurwitz is a great inspirational read, about a girl who anonymously does one small, but good thing in the last 65 days of summer. Thirteen year-old Nina Ross started off feeling lost within her emotions, but she later learns that even though things may not turn out to be what you wanted, it might be even better. The problem is that Nina feels like she can’t do anything important, or stand up and make a difference, she also has to struggle with the relationships of her family and friends. This motivational novel has even inspired me to be more kind to others, and it made me think more deeply about how we treat each other. It has a wonderful mix of mystery, romance, humor, and most important of all, kindness. -Serena The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days is written by Michele Weber Hurwitz. It is about a little girl who wants to make a difference in the world, but she doesn't want anyone knowing it's her who is making the difference. The main character is Nina Ross who is shy, but then finds a voice. The main problem in the story is that that there is this mysterious home and stuff are happening in it. This story wanted me to keep reading, it was so exciting. There was action such as people trying to find out what's going on in a home, and funny. It was just a great story! -Valentina ![]() Hoot is a realistic fiction book by Carl Hiassen. The main character of the book is a boy named Roy Eberhardt. Roy is a very curious, friendly, and adventurous boy. The book is about a boy who moves to Florida, and he has some troubles along the way. The boy passes by a construction site and notices some burrowing owl holes. He realizes that the bulldozers are going to run over the holes with families living in them. Will he save the owls in time? I was curious about what was going to happen next. The book held my interest because because I did not know what was going to happen next, and the author did not give clues away. The story may be confusing at first because it is two stories that connect together. You can also watch the movie. -Alexandra ![]() Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl is an autobiography book by Anne Frank. It is about a Jewish girl named Anne Frank that is living/hiding through the end of World War II and all the conflicts there is. The main character Anne Frank is a 13 years old girl living in a Secret Annex with her family, the Van Daan, and other people. The problem is that Anne and all the people living with her needs to find a way to be quiet, and try not to starve to death. I think the story is great because it teaches me about how hard life can be in World War II, and the plot is unexpected about how the lived. -Emily L. ![]() The book Honey is a fiction book written Sarah Weeks. A young girl named Melody’s mother died when she was just born so it has always just been her and her father. The problem is one night Melody overheard her father talking to someone on the phone and he called her “Honey.” Melody goes on an adventure to try and find out who “Honey” is. My opinion about this book is that it is a interesting and fun book. This book is about a boy that always wanted to see a tornado. The main Character is Dexter. The main problem is there's a tornado coming and they're not ready for it. I really liked this book. It was thrilling fun and really kept my interest. The book takes place in a little town called Wenatchee. In the town there is a little boy named Mark. Mark has a serious cancer that has been going on for months on end. The problem in this book is for Mark to climb Mt. Rainier with his dog Beau. I thought this book was great it had plenty of action like when he almost drowned in Seattle or go into a fight with a street gang. Also this story makes me feel lucky for all the things I have and the condition I am in. -Ryan ![]() The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer is a fiction book about two twins that fall into a magical land called the land of stories. The problem was that they didn’t know how to get out of the fairy tale world. They travel all around the fairy tale world looking for the only way to get out “the wishing spell” but their not the only ones who want it. I really enjoyed this book because it had many twist and turns that I wasn’t expecting. Also, it was adventures and dangerous, I would definitely recommend this book for all those people that adventure. -Nicole ![]() The Maze Runner is a science-fiction story by James Dashner about a group of 100 boys trapped in a giant maze, and them trying to figure out how to escape. The main character is Thomas, and he is extremely smart, and feels alone in the maze. The problem in the story is that all of the boys have been trapped in the maze for years, and still aren’t even close to finding their way out. I really liked the maze runner because it had lots of suspense and action, and it also left you trying to figure out the mystery. -Kate ![]() Sybil’s Night Ride is a book by Karen Winnick, and it is a Fiction book. It is about a girl who rides through the night to muster colonists and their militia that the British are invading, and they must get ready and come defend everyone. In the book Sybil’s Night Ride the main character is a girl named Sybil. She is around 12 years old. The problem of the story is that the British are invading the colonists and no one can warn colonists and the colonists’ defense about it. But Sybil steps up and says she can do it. I really liked the book. It always made me curious by always having something new happen on every page. It answered a lot of my questions about the topic by not just saying it “straight up”. The information was not said but very easy to infer. In total, this was a great book. -Beck |
