![]() The realistic fiction book White Fur Flying by Patricia MacLachlan is about a family who raises dogs in need and how they react when new neighbors move in. The main character is Zoe, a young girl who is interested in the new well-dressed family with the boy named Phillip. The main problem is that Phillip will not speak one word to anyone, but he talks to the dogs when he is all alone. I liked this book because it was interesting to feel the emotion of an outgoing girl trying to become friends with a shy boy. The plot was interesting, and I really liked the way the author made a big twist at the end. This would be a great book to read if you like a cute friendship-filled story. - Casey
