Picture
Three Times Lucky, by Sheila Turnage, is a fiction book is about a girl named Mo and her friend Dale who become famous(kind of). Mo tells her story about how she lost her mother, and now tries to make a new living in Tupelo Landing. The main problem is when Mr. Jesse was murdered and they try to solve the mystery. They have to work together to catch the murderer and to find out why was Mr. Jesse giving $100 each time he was in church. This book is good for two reasons. The first one, is that mysteries are fun to me, and reason number two is because it makes you wonder who killed Mr. Jesse, because at one point you think it is that person then the next minute it is not him or her. Will Mo and Dave solve the mystery, read the book and you will find out. -Nico

The book
Three Times Lucky is a realistic fiction book written by Sheila Turnage which is about an adopted girl named Mo LeBeau looking for her mother she lost in a hurricane. She has a best friend named Dale, and she helps out at Miss Lana’s (her adopted mother) café. Mo lives in a small town with not many residents or action. But then, there’s a murder that happens to an innocent member of her town. So, Mo believes she can solve the murder, even with two other detectives in town. I enjoyed this book’s descriptiveness and its mystery. Although it was good, I did not enjoy how they seemed to solve stuff so easily that it took away from the fact that it is realistic fiction. It made it seem like just fiction. -Elle
