![]() The book The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White, is a fantasy fiction story about a young swan named Louis who, unlike the rest of the family, couldn’t trumpet nor make any noise at all. This meant Louis could not converse with the rest of his family. Louis’s father broke into a nearby store to retrieve a trumpet for Louis to play. Louis was very thankful but felt very bad about breaking into the store. To make up for it, Louis makes friends with a boy named Sam to find a job. Louis also wants to pursue his love for another swan named Serena. This story is full of Louis’s adventures to repay his debts, get new jobs, and many more. I enjoyed this book because it held my interest with its plot, suspense, and interesting and creative storyline and ideas. Also I loved the imagination put into this story because it seems like it would take a lot of thought to write about a swan who could not “talk”. This book kept me curious and reading. -Nithya
