Pie, a realistic and historical fiction book, by Sarah Weeks, is about a girl named Alice Anderson who tells about her life with her aunt and her aunt’s cat. When Alice’s aunt, Polly Portman, passes away, she tries to find out who took her pie crust recipe. When she hears that her mom is trying to show that she is better at pie making than her sister. When Alice hears that her aunts pie crust recipe was taken, she goes on an expedition with her friend Charlie. This book is good, because I like mystery book that make you feel who did the crime. This book is good for an another reason. I like that they always have fun during their adventure (Alice and Charlie is who I am talking about). -Nico

Pie
is a fiction book by Sarah Weeks. Polly Portman is famous for her pies. When she passes away, everyone is hoping to earn the Blueberry Award for baking the best pies. Alice, Polly’s niece, is given Polly’s grouchy cat, Lardo. One day, Lardo was kind of dazed and sleepy looking, so Alice and her friend Charlie investigated. They couldn’t figure it out. one night, alice saw something in her room. it was a person. The person attempted to jump out the window, but Alice caught her. She called her mother. It turns out the lady was Jane Quizenberry, the Blueberry Bridesmaid. Jane always came in second place to Polly and she was trying to steal Lardo the cat because she thought the recipe was tattooed to his belly. It wasn’t. One day, The owner of Lardo vegetable shortening came for a piecrust recipe. Was all of this just a big misunderstanding? This book had a great twist at the end, and kept you wondering what would happen next. This book actually had real pie recipes in the book. -Sam

Pie by Sarah Weeks, is a realistic fiction story about about a 10 year old girl, Alice who loves her Aunt dearly and loves songwriting. Her Aunt Polly made delicious pies. Soon, her Aunt passes away, barely leaving any sign of her secret pie recipe. Alice must find out where to find the recipe with the help of her friend Charlie. I love the very concept and idea the story surrounds. It had a very creative storyline and interesting character personalities. The end of the story truly surprised me, although it was in a good way.   -Nithya

Pie, is a realistic fiction book written by Sarah Weeks. Polly Portman is the pie queen of Ipswitch, Pennsylvania. Alice, her niece, comes to her shop every Saturday and helps her make the famous pies. But When Polly Portman dies, Alice, her niece, inherits her cat “Lardo” from her will, but her cat “Lardo” inherits her famous pie crust recipe. Alice is heartbroken, but now  It’s up to Alice to find her recipe with her friend, Charlie. I really liked the chapter about Polly Portman’s life before she died. It really makes the story seem vivid and alive. I loved the chapter with all of the descriptive words about her pies! -Elle
