![]() The book Oliver Twist is a realistic fiction book written by Charles Dickens. Oliver Twist is a boy who was raised in a terrible workhouse in London and is then sold to an undertaker. He runs away from there and goes to London where he joins Fagin’s (an old thief) gang and learns how to pick pockets. Oliver then gets caught stealing where he collapses out of fear but the man he stole from (Mr. Brownlow) is really nice and decides to take Oliver in. When Oliver is well again, Mr. Brownlow decides to test Oliver and sends Oliver out on an errand. Oliver is then recaptured by members of Fagin's gang where Fagin holds him in strict captivity for a while. But deep down, isn’t all that Oliver needs is a family? I really enjoyed this book because it had so much suspense and mystery. I also enjoyed the characters the author created. -Elle
