![]() The historical fiction book Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder is about a young boy named Almanzo who is trying to learn how to be a great cowman like this father. Almanzo is the youngest child of his family and he is willing to learn everything about being a true cowman. This book takes places back in the colonial times. The main problem is that Almanzo has a hard time learning how to raise a calf of his own. I liked this book because it was different to see how the colonial people made butter, beds, and many others things using their little resources. The story made me feel like I was back in time to the colonial places they were at. - Casey
