The Great Awaking helped develop the idea of colonial independence from England when others decided that the church had too much power and was not equally treating everyone in town. The Great Awakening might have had many ways of developing colonial independence. Here's one way, it made it more equal for all people when they went to church because it enabled anyone to sit wherever they wanted. Before the Great awakening, people were separated by class. That class might determine where they could sit in the church. For example, if you were in a higher class you might have more of the ability to sit towards the front of the church, and the lower class people might sit towards the back. It's based off of better seats. That is one way I think the Great Awakening might have had an impact of developing colonial independence.

Some ways the Great Awakening helped develop the idea of colonial independence from England are ...... Some ways are that the colonial people might have felt like they have more power in their lives. George Whitefield was very good at helping them feel like they had power to control their own lives and become more independent. They treated you the same as everyone else, and gave you the same specialties as everyone else had. Everyone was included, not one person was left out.
