When Christopher Columbus arrived in the United States,he told the Indians that the "blood moon" meant that God was angry with them because they had not given him alot of gold.If rocket ships and telescopes had existed back then, the Indians would have known this was not true.Christopher Columbus would hardly have had any gold or expensive things from them.
In 1803, if they had a piece of modern technology, things would be very different. In 1803 is when the U.S. bought the Louisiana Purchase from France. It was very risky because the U.S. didn't know how big the Louisiana Territory was. If they had modern day people who scoped out the land to see how big the land was, the French probably would have never sold the Louisiana Territory. Other things would happen if in 1803 had modern technology.
If google maps existed in 1492 Christopher Columbus wouldn’t have to be the one that proved the earth is round. Google Earth would’ve convinced everyone that the earth is round, and no body would have called him crazy.
Modern technology would have helped the Colonists win the war more quickly.Instead of Paul Revere riding around yelling that the Redcoats are coming he could have used modern ways of communicating. one would be going on TV and telling the Colonists that the British are coming or broadcasting the news on social media. That is one example of how technology could have affected history.
In 1754 Benjamin Franklin drew a cartoon called Join or Die to try to convince colonists to unite against the French. He drew a cartoon of a chopped up snake to show how the different colonies were not connected and not powerful. But if they all came together, they could be as deadly as a snake. Benjamin wanted to get this message to the colonists and because most could not read, he thought a drawing would work better. If the colonists had had telephones, he could have spread the word to everyone even if they couldn't read. All they would have had to do was listen and he could spread the word faster. Also, with more technology history might have not been so messy! Because we would be able to record important events.
Paul Revere was famous for his Midnight ride in 1775. He created a system of lanterns to warn civilians that the British were coming.
If Paul had a cell phone he could've contacted the civilians faster so they could get ready quicker.
With our technology today, I think the Lewis and Clark expedition might not have happened today. Lewis and Clark might not even had to physically explored the great West. With the helicopter, the drone (with a camera attached), or even a telescope, the expedition could have not happened. With the drone (and a camera attached), they could've flown it in the unknown territory and checked it out while they were at another place. With the helicopter and the telescope, the helicopter could have hovered over the great West and they could scope the place out with the telescope. So those are three things in modern technology that could have definitely made the Lewis and Clark expedition not even a expedition at all.
The modern technology in now very important to everything. I am going to choose the war of 1812. This war would of never started if we had phones to tell British would stop. Also if they did not get it they would send a nether text saying we signed the treaty of Ghent. So if we had modern technology at 1812 the war would have not happened. That is why are technology is very important and wish we had it back then.
If modern technology was around while the troops were fighting the Revolutionary War they would not have had to stop fighting during the winter months. With technology they would have had uniforms that are made of of Gortex and other cold water materials. Gortex would have waterproofed there boats and also keep them extra warm during the snow storms.
If we had modern guns during the revolution we would have in one year no nine or, if Paul revere had a television he could just post the British are coming on the news not run around the city shouting it.
With Modern technology many events that we learned about this year may have been prevented. For Example if there were Modern ships during the age of exploration Sir Rally would of been able to come back to Roanoke with supplies before the colonists disappeared. Sir Rally could of sailed back to Britain before the British knew about the Spanish Armada and he wouldn't have to use his ship to defeat the Spanish Armada! If sea vessels during the age of exploration were like modern day vessels then maybe Roanoke wouldn't be much of a 'lost colony', would it?
When we bought the Louisiana Territory we could have used technology, why? When the farmers complained about not being able to port there goods, the president Thomas Jefferson suggested they could buy New Orleans to port there goods from. So Thomas Jefferson sent James Monroe and Robert Livingston to Napoleon all the way in France to ask for New Orleans. If we had technology we could have sent a message saying we want to buy New Orleans for $10,000,000. When Napoleon answered, he could of texted can we give you the whole Louisiana Territory for $15,000,000. Instead of going back in forth to the U.S to Paris we could of texted over this situation. So when we had to go back to Thomas Jefferson to get $15,000,000 approved we could of showed him the text and wrote back saying yes. Then, when we had to give the money you could of sent the check. That would of been a faster way of getting the land. Tecnology makes everything better.
There are many ways that modern technology would have changed our country's history. Christopher Columbus would have never discovered our country if we had google maps to show him where to go. If he had google maps he would have succeed on his mission and not find the United States. Technology is an amazing thing and if it was around in 1492 our states would still be unknown.
The treaty ending the war was for no reason. But the letter didn't get in time so they had the battle and thousands of people died for no reason.
Ferdinand Magellan's trip around the world would be easier because he could have seen where passages were and if there was a storm headed his way. He could have also had a safer ship with more food because of refrigeration.
If there was modern technology, Paul Revire would not have to ride all the way to Lexington to tell the colonists that the British were coming. They could have just used phones to text eact other that the British were coming.
Lots of things would be different if modern technology was there throughout history. For instance, when Lewis and Clark went exploring into the Louisiana territory. Lewis and Clark could just take out their phone and go on Google Maps. Then, they could know exactly where they were going. In conclusion, if Lewis and Clark had modern technology then they could have definitely found the Louisiana Territory faster.
If modern technology had been around, Britain could have taken over Fort Sullivan. In Charleston, the British attacked from their boats at Fort Sullivan. If modern technology was there, the cannonballs would have easily passed through the soft wood. The cannonballs bounced off and Fort Sullivan remained for America.
When Sir Walter Raleigh went to gather more supplies in 1585 he came back to find his whole colony was gone! If phones or computers had been around, the colonists could have quickly sent Walter Raleigh at text or email and said what happened. If they did this, he could of looked for who took them or killed them and maybe get some of his colonists back.
I think modern technology could have helped with Lexington and Concord if we had cell phones. For instance, If we had cell phones Paul Reverie could call up his friends in America ,and tell them to watch out for the British. We could have set up long in advanced and could have a better battle plan. Also, if Paul Revere's phone died he could use a fast car instead of a horse. All in all modern devices work very well, and without them we sure did struggle.
If we had technology at the lost colonies of Roanoke then we might have found them. We might have found them with phones because we could've called them or they could've sent their location. If they hadn't had gone missing and England had found them maybe we would've been more loyal to them. That is what I think would've happened with technology.
If there had been modern agricultural technology in the 1800's, the Civil War may have never happened. The South and the North both would have machines and Doo-hickeys to do there work for them and would never had needed slaves. Both sides could have just talked it out over a video call and dealt with the problem and other problems like that until they came to an agreement. Not as many casualties would have happened during that war and there wouldn't be bloodsheds everywhere. The impact of the Civil War was so big that still today people have arguments over it.
If they had a piece of modern technology things would of been a lot different. Like calling England and telling them about the treaty or fast boats planes ect.
In 1492 when Christopher Columbus was trying to sail around the earth, he could have used google maps to prove everybody wrong that the earth was acually round. If that happend everybody would believe him and be interested in learning more. Also if he had google maps, when he showed them that the earth was round everybody would acually believe him and say he's not crazy of joking around and wasting his time.
If we had technology during the burning of Washington DC, Dolley Madison could have just texted everyone to grab their valuables and leave the city faster. Then everybody could get the stuff that they forgot or didn't grab. Also, the library of records could have been saved with just a few words from a text message.
The Battle of New Orleans was the final battle of the war of 1812. It is good that we won, however, the battle should never have happened; in Europe, the Treaty of Ghent had already been signed. The treaty of Ghent said they would stop fighting and the British would leave the American land. If there had been better, faster communication, the American and British soldiers would have known not to fight the battle of New Orleans. If the battle had been prevented, deaths and injuries would have been avoided. On the other hand, General Andrew Jackson became an American hero for defeating the British; he might not have later become President if not for the Battle of New Orleans. These are my reasons why I think technology would have changed history.
In 1492 Christopher Columbus found America. But, he didn't realize it. He thought he was in India, but he was far from it. If modern technology was involved in this, however, things would be different. Let's say there was Google Maps back then. Google Maps would've helped him figure out which way was best to sail to India, and also find out he wasn't in India. Our country could've grown faster. But instead if figuring out it was a brand new land waiting to be a country, it was India to him.
If there was technology during the battle at Lexington and Concord, the battle would have been different. On Paul Revere's ride to warn people about the British, he could have just sent a text. Another thing is that is we had google in the fourteen hundreds, Christopher Columbus would have known that the world is round. Finally, in the purchase of the Louisiana Territory, the Americans could have looked on google maps to see how big it was. In conclusion, if there was technology in the past, some battle could have been stopped.
The revalutionary War could have been a lot easyer if they had cell phone and modern electronics. During the Lewis and Clark expedition they lost a few members of there crew and had to search everywhere, but if there were cell phones they could call the missing members and locate them by asking them where they were and there trip would be a lot easyer.
