I don't think that America would be its own Country without a war. I think this because the Colonials couldn't just walk up to Parliament and ask can we be our own Country? Parliament would say heck NO!! With this answer it would for sure start a war. So that is my answer for this blog entry.

Yes, I do think the war could be avoided. I don't understand how the war helps anything. We could have done it the way the Native Americans did it sometimes. When the Native Americans didn't have enough people to fight they would play lacrosse. We could have done it that way and get America, and it would only take a day.

I don’t think there was a better way to become the United States of America and here are some reasons why. We first were nice and sent letters and with our actions we showed that we didn’t want to be part of England. Americans tried to do it the easy way but the King chose the hard way. I don’t think we wanted to go to war originally, but it then came to that. If the King of England was nicer I think he would have accepted our opinions but he didn't 😠. So those are some reasons why I don’t think there was a better way of becoming the USA because I don’t think there was any other option to go with.

I do not think that we could have become America without the Revolutionary War, because the British wouldn't have let us have representation in their government. England needed us to pay taxes to pay for their war against France, so they would not have wanted us to leave. The British had the world's strongest military so unless we could show them we could fight they would not have taken us seriously.

To me, I do not agree with Tim Meeker. I think that there is no possible way that america could be its own country without war. I think this because before the war, there was the "Seeds of Revolution." Before the war, Great Britain was already making taxes. This was TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. So, if we just let the British do what they wanted, America would just be another Great Britain. There was no chance that Great Britain would let America be a country. The only possible way for us to make America its own country was war. Back then people were not as kind or civilized as we are now. These days, we talk out our problem and apologize and forget it ever happened. But, back then, it was whoever you had a problem with you kill. It was like a "Kill of be killed" situation. With this mindset all of the time, the only way to get to a conclusion in any situation was a fight, which would lead to a battle, which would lead to a war. So, to me, I think that the the sad truth Is that We would not have our beautiful and independent country we have today without the horrific and meaningful, Revolutionary war. In conclusion, I think America would not be its own country without war because of how mean, careless, and uncivilized people were back then. I would write something different if people acted, thought, and treated others differently at the time of the Revolutionary war. But, they were just them hateful people, not knowing how to treat others. Could there have been no war? Not in my eyes.

Would America be a country without the Revolutionary War? I think they would not have. The reason I think that is because if we did not fight Britain, we would not have gotten our independence. They only way in my mind to gain our independence is to fight them. That was my answer on would America be a country without the revolutionary war.

Yes it could not have been avoided. No because King George lll did not want to agree to America but he had to because of the war.

The Revolutionary War could have been avoided, and we can still be America. The British could have agreed to let them be America, from the declaration.

This is (what I believe) the 'other' way Tim talked about in the epilogue. First, many other ways that could have worked, but the one that would truly be the best is the one being described. Among those other ways, the best one would be the one that satisfied both sides, and that way is a cease-fire. Say the British still wanted to control the colonies, this way would satisfy the Brits in the form of the Tory colonies. The land would be given to the British for their own use, but the British will not be able to control the Patriot colonies. And to satisfy the Patriots, The King would not be able to control the Tory colonies, instead, a leader voted by the people would. (granted the King's vote would not count) And if there were skirmishes on the border, the people who fought the other side would both be prosecuted for disturbing the peace. If the situation escalates to a fatality, the people in that family will be given all of the dead's belongings, only if the fatality did not have a will written for the occasion. Back to the British, if the leader of the Tory colonies is falsely elected, due to people being bribed to vote for someone, that person will be hanged on the border between Tory and Patriot land, for the absolute fairness of the trial. That is the other way Tim could be describing.

I don’t think war could be avoided to make America what it is today. As a country, America believes in independence and in freedom of speech, the freedom to vote, and more! If we hadn’t believed in independence from the start, then we wouldn’t have had the Revolutionary War. America might have become a country at some point without the war, but that would mean that the colonists didn’t believe in keeping the freedom they had had for many, many, years.

No, I do not think that we could achieve the same end without the revolutionary war. The British were stubborn and so was the King. They would never give up to get more land just like we would never give up. I also do not think the war could be avoided because we had so many fights that we couldn't take each other any more. We also could not be America without the war. But we are America today. And I do not think that we would have America without the war and the war could not have been avoided.

I think that the war could have possibly been avoided, but it wouldn't have been a big chance. If the king would have seen the letters we sent and actually taken us seriously, then he might have negotiated with the Americans without fighting the war. The king did not take us seriously, but we were serious so we had to go to war for freedom. That's my opinion on if the war could have been avoided or not.

I think without the Revolutionary War, we wouldn't have became Americans. We would probably be Britains, if we didn't stand up for ourselves and fought with a good reason to die. I think the war wouldn't be avoided. They were treating disrespectfully and they raised taxes for more money, which was taxation without representation.

I think that back then war solved many problems. If it were in the modern day like today, war could have been avoided. In the earlier times war settled all problems. So in conclusion, i think if it were today, the war could have been avoided making us America.

No I do no think the war could of been awarded because when the colonists tried to use there words the British did not listen. Adding on to what I said we could not of won the war, and became The United States Of America! If we did not have the war the furies between the British, and the colonies would of be worsened, and the out come would not be good.

I think that there couldn't be another way besides war. First, the British would say no to freeing the colonists which meant that war was the only way. Second, if the British did say yes America would be pretty weak with no army and could be beaten easily. Lastly, some people didn't want to separate, what would happen to them? As you can see, there couldn't be another way besides war.

I think we could have avoided the war, but I also think that we wouldn't have became america without the war because the British own a lot of land and at first we were just colonists, but then in the middle, a bit of the beginning, and the end we had fought for our freedom and to claim what is now called america.

I think we could still be America without war. In the first seed of revolution (Proclamation of 1763), King George lll blocked off the area where the Indians were to prevent colonists from moving there. He did this because he could not afford to fight another war. Maybe if American colonists bought the land from King George lll we could avoid war. Since he was broke he might take the money and give us freedom. That is one way we could still be America without war.

I think the Revolutionary War could have been avoided and we could have become independent without the war. First of all, the Americans and British could have sat down in Paris and made a treaty for American independence. The Americans could have given the British money and goods in exchange for independence, but instead the Americans fought in a 7 year war. Secondly, the British could have let the Americans have representatives in the British Parliament to vote on laws for the Colonies. Lastly, the British could have given all Americans a chance to vote if they wanted to have taxation or not. That’s the way I think we could have gotten our independence without going through the Revolutionary War.

I think we could have avoided the war and still become America because when we wrote to him about how we wanted freedom, he burned it without even reading it. If he had read it, he might have learned that he didn't obey his own laws to not take other people's things and let them have some privacy. I think if the king wasn't so busy thinking about himself, he would have noticed other people getting hurt because of his war and maybe he would have let us go.

I do not think the Revolutionary War could have been avoided. I think this because England wanted to keep their colonies while colonists would not give up their freedom. Without the war America would probably not be America and still be owned by England. We still have freedom to this day because the colonists were brave and wouldn't give up any opportunity to have freedom. In the end we lost many brave souls, but without the Revolutionary war we would not be the United States of America.

I don't think that we could have created America without a war. I think this because we couldn't just say, hey we are starting a new country. If we did the King would just say, not happening. with the war we showed how hard we wanted freedom and so without a war we would probably still have to be loyal to the King.

I think that if we had calmed down like the British wanted that their could have been another future war. I think this because there is always a problem no matter where you are, like pollution. We may not have been America today without the Revolutionary War, but we would probably eventually become a separate country from Britain.

I don't think that we could have won our Independence without a war, and I have reasons supporting this. First of all, we had already tried sending two petitions to King George III before the war, and he refused both of them, so I don't see why he would have listened any other way. Second of all, we had already gone through all the "Seeds" of Revolution, so we were headed towards war regardless of what we might have tried. Lastly, I think that if King George II kept rejecting us, we would have eventually snapped and just attacked him. That was my reasoning for my answer.

I think that we could not be America without war. First of all we tried to do it peacefully by writing a letter but King George would not even read them. I also think that if we tried to ignore King George's rules and just start our own Country on his land that he would have just punished us with more troops. I also feel like war was the last thing we wanted to do because we thought the British would win so we tried writing notes and making a comprise but nothing worked so this was kind of our only choice.

I don't think we would have become a country without the Revolutionary War. The British always had their army present to make sure no Colonists were doing anything bad. The British wanted to still own the Colonies, because they made money by collecting taxes from the Colonists. The British also didn't want the Colonies to be their own country. At the Treaty of Paris, King George the 3rd wanted them to still be apart of England. Those are three reasons why if we didn't have the Revolutionary War it wouldn't work.

I think America could have became America without the war. First, the British could have made a Treaty with the Americans, because later on they may not have wanted to spend money to support them living there. Secondly, the Americans could have traded money for British goods to support their life their later when the British wanted to leave. Lastly, if the British let the Americans have more representatives in their Parliament and the British didn’t make laws behind their backs they wouldn’t have to have a war because they hadn’t started fighting yet. There are probably other ways there wouldn’t have had to be a war but those are just a few.

I think this war could have been avoided. First, I think the war could be avoided by Britain not hitting the Americans with so many taxes. No, I don't think we could have become America without the Revolutionary War. I think that because before the war had even started we tried to send them a peace treaty (The Olive Branch Petition), and when the British saw the Petition they didn't even look at it. All they British wanted was for the colonist to listen to them and not do their own thing. Another reason I think we would have had the war anyways was because all of the seeds were already in place they can't take back what had happened before like the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. That is my opinion on wether the was should have happened or not.

I do not think that we could have become America without the Revolutionary War. The British established many unfair laws against the colonists to get themselves out of debt. The colonists were tired of the British taking advantage of them, and at first tried to reason with the British. The British didn’t listen and would have never agreed to let the colonists become independent. Unfortunately, war seemed the only option at that time. Benjamin Franklin said that there are no gains without pain. We would not be the free America that we are today without the Revolutionary War.

I think we could have avoided war and we still could have become America. I think this because even though we wouldn’t fight for our independence we still could have got it. We could have got our independence because we are on another continent so Great Britain will get tired of traveling back and forth between Great Britain and America. Even if Great Britain did do this it would be a longer time than it took it the Revolutionary War. This is what makes me think that we could have avoided war and still became America.

The Revolutionary war was a big point in history. It Would probably be very hard to be a free country without it. So, no I think without it we would still be under rule of king George III. I think this because we were not happy after the French and Indian war because of the land and they didn’t care and didn’t do anything. So if we didn’t fight we would still be ruled by Britain.

I think the Revolutionary War could not have been avoided. The war could not have been avoided because if America had just talked to Parliament or King George III, they would have said no and war would have happened. Second, if America had made a deal with Parliament or King George III, they would have said no. If they had said yes, America would not have anything to give back to Britain. For example, if Britain had said we will give you food until you repay us with gold. If we say yes to the deal, we will get the food, but Britain will not get the gold because there's not much gold on the East side of the US to give to Britain. Finally, if Parliament and King George III had not taxed America, we would not have attacked the shopkeepers and Britain would not have gotten mad and started the war. These are my reasons why the war could not have been avoided.
